At the basic level, projects need:
A story with a compelling need and a short video that explains the project/need

Submit your online project application.
Project applications are carefully reviewed by the Advancement team. Application evaluations are based on: team commitment, goal achievement potential, project appeal and impact. Application review is ongoing and new projects are placed on the platform each semester.
What is an appropriate funding goal for my project?
Crowdfunding is a grassroots effort to raise smaller amounts of money from many donors for specific projects with a short-term drive. The typical range for crowdfunding projects is $1,500 to $8,000. You want to set a achievable goal that covers the cost of your project.
How much work does it take to run a Webbgive project?
We'd be lying if we said that it takes very little time to launch and manage a Webbgive project. On average a Webbgive projects take 10-12 weeks of focused, intense work.
There are three phases:
Quiet Phase: 4-6 weeks of creating content, a promotion schedule and time for review
Active Phase: 30-60 days of active solicitation via email and social media. This includes weekly updates and the posting of new images/media content.
Post-Campaign Phase: Anywhere from 3-9 months of stewardship and updates after the project's active phase
How do I promote my project?
Project success relies on personal networking---your best supporters love GWU, but they REALLY love you and your project. You can use your personal, group, department or team email lists, Facebook pages, Twitter feeds, LinkedIn groups, etc. to promote your project.
Who gets the money we raise?
The money you raise—whether or not you hit your goal—goes directly to your group’s GWU-designated fund. As an added bonus for your donors, donations made to your project count as tax-deductible gifts in support of GWU.
